I started Instagram a bit ago but wasn't ready to figure it all out. Now it is a full on every 5 min check-in addiction. I can't help it. An already stylin' New Year

This has been such a wonderful holiday season. Full of family, fun and cookies galore thanks to my G.G. Now we are getting amped for the new year. One of my favorite parts of new year is getting together with my lady friends for what we call The New Year's Summit. We have been doing this since 2007! We meet for brunch usually and chat it up all as a lead in to business. We each go over the list me made the year before. We celebrate the accomplishments and decide if we want to carry any unmet goals over to the next year. Then we get really focused with pen to paper for 5 min. We list anything and everything that comes to mind that we would like to do, see or be in the new year. Then we share that list and get all excited. It has been really helpful and fun and this year I would like to take it one step further by printing my list and posting it on my wall at least if not here on Boots. I am a capricorn which means I like lists and I like checking lists off. This could be a good move. And a good reminder of all the things i want to do in my life. I already know so much of my list will have to do with my soon to be here baby. Luckily, thanks to my mom and Sam for finding it, I will be able to start my mommy career in total style.
Do you have any new year's traditions that set you up success? I'd love to hear about them.

I discovered Minted thanks to one of my favorite mommy blogs, Dear Baby Blog. Thank god! Potsch and I wanted to make holiday cards as we felt that is something you do when you are married but with everything else going on we just have not had the time to even think about it. Minted made it all soooooo easy and pretty. They have tons of designs that are fun and current. And they don't just do Cards but journals and address labels and envelopes and more. I can not wait to design our birth announcements here next year. Only a couple months to go. oh Boy!

A new coat

Of paint.
Things have been busy in the Boyd House. The main nursery furniture is in - including the mid-century club chair turned rocker by Potsch and the yucky tobacco colored credenza all sanded and poly'd with gorgeous anthropology knobs (on sale!!!) also done by Potsch and our solid wood craiglist find crib. But before we go any further it's time to slap a new coat of paint on this room. We chose grape créme by Behr which is really more of a light grey with a slight violet hue. I find the name "grape créme" to be a bit misleading.
This is a weird time in pregnancy when I have lots of ideas and projects and so many I can't or am not allowed to do myself. Lucky for me I have a super talented and loving husband who is patient and calm and happy to make all my dreams and ideas come to life. I am able to post this now cause he is the only one in that nursery painting. I feel a bit guilty about that but he seems just happy.
So I shall continue prepping what I can and trying not to come up with too many other ideas.

You have got to be kidding me!!! The deal that is going right now is either get one pie with free delivery (in the LA metro area) for $20 OR join the pie-a-month club for $99. $99 and I could have a delicious pie at my door every month?! That sounds completely dangerous and yet I could finish the year with more new friends than I would know what to do with.

Busy busy and yet lazy lazy

I am done with work now. No more weddings this year. No travel planned. Just at home getting ready for baby and the holidays. Sounds so perfect. Sounds like a dream come true. Only thing is I am stuck in that chilly weather no motivation to even shower mode. I also think of this time as my early 20's.
I am getting stuff done at home and prepping to get our nursery all set up. Today Potsch and I are heading to check out paint chips! It would be amazing to have paint from Farrow & Ball. What a way to start my kid off! With gorgeous high class color surrounding her. But that may be for a different time in a different house. Today will check out some more budget friendly options.

I will also be cooking up a storm! Not for Thankgiving even but for my friends who just had their first baby on Monday. I will be bombarding them with deliciousness to help them stay full and healthy while they spend every waking moment staring at this miracle they made. Thanksgiving is just around the corner! Can you believe it? I still have my party hat on from New Years 2010. With Thanksgiving comes family, fun, naps and lots of delicious food. The final week in the elevator

I am done with work. I am sitting at a coffee shop after taking a long long walk and trying to feel relaxed and slowly trying to let go of the stress.
It seemed only natural to complete the final week with a week in the elevator post. Of course I didn't think of it until Tuesday so here is most of the week. I am 25 weeks pregnant! Now that I have no job I need to figure out a reason to get dressed in something beyond work out clothes. I like being a cute stylish preggar, if I may say so about myself. So give me some time to come up with a new style post idea. I've got to milk this "tight clothes big belly" thing as much as I can.
lord knows I got some time on my hands now.

I was just saying the other day how I never have my photos printed anymore and it makes me sad. Everyday I spend a little to a lot of time dreaming about my little girl. Who will she be? What will she dream about? And lots of times, what will she wear?
I was a very lucky girl growing up. Of course I did not know to what extent until I was faced with making my choices. Now as I dream and shop for my someday baby girl I remember my mom dressing me in fashions from France and the hottest trends she had read about in Vogue. I had edgy cool hair cuts all because of her. She taught me to play with my clothes and be inventive. She would design and sew my halloween costumes from scratch from Marilyn Monroe to a fuzzy Ewok. My love for clothes, textures, styles and trends all come from her. So, you can see I have a lot to pass on to this little girl and yet at the same time be just as patient as my mom was with me when this little girl has her own inventions and isn't interested in mine.

But until she can dress herself I may just be dressing her in Hucklebones from London.

Last neutral day

Tomorrow Potsch and I will be finding out if this sweet atomic kicking/punching baby of ours in a boy or a girl. This is a strangely big huge deal to me and I can't completely tell you why. I always had it in my mind that I would wait until our official first face to face meeting to find out who this little person is but the more time we spend together and the more Potsch longs for a stronger connection the more it just makes sense to use technology and these modern times to get a 20wk ultrasound.
So today I am enjoying the last moments of this part of the mystery. The wonderment of whether there will be a penis or some day period talk. I am proud of myself for not letting my mind race off into the future where my child grows up and gets married and has a career doing such and such. I have kept myself excited for just changing a sweet stinky diaper and losing sleep for the most magical reasons.
Tomorrow, however, I hope I can hang onto that reserve. I hope I can allow the expectations and fantasies to have their fun and not stick their hooks in me too deep. And honestly, it's just a gender. Whatever we discover tomorrow will not make us paint the baby room one color over another. And who knows if that gender is who the actual baby person will want to be. Either way, we will be thrilled. Either way it will be a miracle.

A real help

I have a couple of friends who are pregnant right along with me. Nicole is 5 weeks ahead and Sarah is 15 weeks ahead. Being a part of this soon to be mommy world is a super trip. There is so much info you need to learn and sort through. There is even learning how to help the right away as opposed to the in the way. One thing I had heard about from a mommy of a 21 month old is the idea of baby mooning - this not a trip you take before you think you can never take a trip again but rather a nice bit of alone time with you and the father and the new member to bond and connect before the rest of the family and friends come in with all their eager excitement. The other thing I learned from her was the idea of dropping off meals or giving clean up help with out requiring the parents to host or entertain you but rather you are just helping out of love and that's it.
So, I went on a search to make this food/clean/help plan a little easier for anyone who is interested. TAKE THEM A MEAL is the answer. It is an online customizable spread sheet where you can invite friends and family to sign up for what they can do. The site will even send a reminder email! And the service is free!!!
I will be setting this up today for Sarah and Clay and their almost here baby. So exciting!
This isn't just for baby parents. Think about your sick friend or an elderly neighbor who could use a little friendly help. I love the idea of connecting in a personal way with real life people again. Some how the Internet has brought so many of us closer and yet so far away. I am happy to see it is working in our favor to benefit our humanity and souls.

Sometimes I see photos of babies and all of a sudden my world seems more open. Like this photo. It is such a random every day moment and yet it brought tears to my eyes thinking about the idea that I will have a sweet little naked baby running around my house sooner than later. My mind is filled with the happiest giggles and feet stomping around. That beats any fashion or gadget I could ever buy. The smell of a sweet baby - the smell of MY sweet baby. oh man I can't wait.

It blows my mind to say that 1 year ago today I became the wife of the sweetest greatest husband in all the lands. What better way to remember our glorious day than to gaze through all the fun Brilliant photos by Steep Street. I have never danced on a softer higher cloud than that night 10-10-10. Here is to you husband and all the adventures you fill my life with. And here is to you family and friends who add more love and support in our life than we know what to with at times.

That night when Potsch and I were alone in our uber fancy Beverly Hills Hotel suit we got to go through all the great drawings and messages left by our guest. It was like the night would never end. We can't decide if we should frame the drawings or make a cool little book. I like the book idea.
How cool are we that famous Chef Travis Lett (in the back) of deliciousness Gjelina was at our wedding ?! haha we feel so cool.

We made so many things for this day. These flags. The napkins. The runners. The rope...so much.
This is my crazy family. Those are my two brothers holding up my step-dad. They are all awesome!

I made this sign and so much of me wishes there was some way to re-use it cause I loved it so much. But a seating chart seems to only have a one use limit.

The other day, after a few nights of uneasy pregnant sleep, Potsch got my my very own boyfriend pillow. That is not the real name for it but it should be cause it takes up half the bed and you get to snuggle with it all night long, thus The Boyfriend. My nights are wonderful now. So cozy and wrapped up and when I wake up to pee 20 times a night I see that Potsch is equally snuggled up to the pillow and his sweet little face is right there by mine.
Now I love sleeping even more.

Life has been nutty over here at New Girl (my job). Thank god for the iPad and flipboard. I found this and am so excited to get it for a few soon-to-be-mommies I know. Bluum! This is a monthly service that send a box of mommy/baby surprise for just $9 a month! They even have a couple of gift options like a year for $109 and 3 months for just $33. I think this is a perfect add on to baby shower registry gift. I can not stop listening to the gorgeous voice of Garrett Hedlund. Potsch and I watched the movie Country Strong on the way back from Thailand a bit ago and we loved it. Since then I have wanted to be a country music star and I think Potsch does too. The other day I bought all of Garrett Hedlund's songs from the soundtrack ad have not stopped listening and dreaming to them. Potsch is getting a little jealous. Any man would. It kills me that Garrett is not really a country singer but rather mainly an actor. I want music from him and I have a feeling I will be wanting this forever. But for now I will continue dreaming and invite you along with me.

I absolutely love Soft Gallery. So lovely and whimsical and yet chic and pure fashion. The photos of their pieces are just gorgeous as well. I imagine my baby to be a little more rough and tumble with twigs and glue in their hair on a daily basis but I have no doubt my super model friend Kate's children will be just this eloquently stylish. My husband and I both have iPads. Oh yeah. We are just that cool. not really but sometimes. Anyway, when I carry my big purse I get to take my pad with me everywhere but sometimes that big purse can be so heavy and I find my self lugging it around just so I can have my cool gadget with me. For my husband he runs the risk of dropping it or not having it with him cause he has no way of carrying it. Until now. Kill Spencer has a very cool army style iPad case/bag. With out meaning to this week became the week of red cardigans. Secret: on Monday I had a red cardigan in my bag for when the AC became a bit too cold.
Dresses and cardigans have been my staple mix and match for years now. This week I was super tired and just not getting enough rest. This made getting dressed in the morning a bit of a hassle but it has to be done right? Grabbing a dress and a cardigan is just easy. It makes me look stylish and pulled together on the outside and on the inside I know I am basically in the jeans and t-shirts of my twenties. Maybe that is how Monday slipped in there.

I first true love happened when I was 12. He was classic gentleman full of style and class, talent and charm. My heart still beats wildly for him and I believe always will. Mr. Harry Connick Jr. No joke. I was IN LOVE with him. I went to his concert. I wrote to his fan club. I save every single item I could that had to do with him. From his CDs to his movies - Memphis Belle and Little Man Tate to the wrappers that these items came wrapped in. No joke. I even have a frame autographed black and white head shot of my true love.
Lately I catch myself keeping the radio off and singing Harry Connick Jr. songs my whole way home. He is a perfect gentleman just like my husband and if I ever have boy of my own he will be a gentleman too.

This one of my all time favorite songs ever. So many memories of dancing and dreaming in my room when I was supposed to be doing my homework.

Please excuse my tardiness on this weeks elevator fashion show. A lot has been going on and hopefully I will be able to share with you all soon. Now with out further adieu...

I love this outfit! These are my new jeans size 16!!!! I have not been a size 16 since high school. That seems to be something adult women say. "I haven't been this size since High School." I have always thought it was a weird thing to say and now I am saying it. I feel super sexy in my jeans and when I wear my cowboy boots...watch out! My shirt is vintage and I picked it up at this years Vintage Expo. And my hair is freshly done. Always makes me happy.

I was a little nervous leaving the house in this outfit as I was barely awake when I threw it together but seeing this photo I am quite pleased with myself and think maybe I should dress myself asleep more often. New Shirt from Nordstroms. Rock Star Jeans from Old Navy. I did wear a rediscovered bracelet for you though. Next I will need to get a better photo of it.

This is just a detailed shot of my necklace and shirt pattern. I love the color but you can't see it so well in the main shot.

These pants made it into the goodwill pile when I got home. They are super comfortable and I was attempting to go for a J. Crew yacht look. I feel like I half made it on deck. The pants are about 3 sizes too big and I spent the day having to pull them up. But I was terribly comfortable. Like working in your PJ's.

Try as I might I could not get a great shot of these pants. They are from Thailand and you have seen me in a similar green pair. Potsch calls them my Ali Baba pants. Others call the Hammer time. Each name makes me do a strange dance that I am sure looks nothing like it does in my mind. This pair is a lovely dark violet/purple with little flowers and butterflies all over. I love purple and red together so that is what I did with my shoes. Maybe the best shoes ever. And I brought out more purple with my amethyst rock necklace.

First of thank you to all the kind comments on last weeks WitE. I was reminded that life is all about perspective. So, put on a happy face and the world will smile with you.
Last weekend I did a big clean out of my closet and am now down to a few choice pieces and a couple I just can't let go of yet. I had some fun this week playing around with the clothes I have left and am having even more fun thinking about the clothes I need to get. I also rediscovered some great shoes and hope I can start incorporating them into my work wear.
So here we go...

I get a lot of compliments on this dress. Some times I don't want to tell people I got it from Target but then I always do. I loved pairing it with my thin black belt and Cardigan. And the sandals are my rediscover!!! I bought these last year and haven't seen them for a while under the mess and disorganization. But that is all in the past as I walk into my future with style.

Originally I had a new vintage red belt on with this outfit. I was so excited to share it with you but something was feeling off. Potsch told me maybe I had too many primary colors on. He hit the nail on the head! I looked a little to much like a cartoon super hero. Not the look I was in the mood for on Tuesday. So I ditched the belt and ended up with a nice summery outfit that reminded me of how lovely and sunny outside was even though I was stuck in the office all day.

I modeled this look after Rachel Zoe. I loved it. I felt cool and comfy and ready for anything. Even sitting at a desk all day. Ha. I even wore a bunch of bracelets AND a necklace. My accessorizing abilities are really being stretched to their limit these days. Which is good cause they definitely need a work out.

I love my vintage leopard print jacket. It is about 5 sizes too big for me now but I pinned it in a few spots and strutted around anyway. It may need to have a trip to the tailor. Thursday was my pattern remix day. I loved the mix of the leopard with the purple floral summer dress (Same design as the Monday dress and also from Target). You can't see it in this sassy shot but I am sporting my Ban.do heart as well. Love that heart!

A couple weeks ago I had the lovely pleasure of shooting my first ever engagement session. The couple is a very near and dear pair to me and I was beyond honored to go to Palm Springs with my trusty assistant turned videographer (oh you will die over what he made) husband, Potsch, to capture the exuberant love abounding from these two. Margaret and Patrick will be tying the knot in absolute style this September. It is sure to be an affair to remember.
Through the hot hot heat of the early summer desert we four had a blast frolicking in the sand and hidden jungles of classic Palm Springs. There is nothing like a desert sunset in Joshua Tree to really set the mood for romance and bring right to the present of your glorious life. Or maybe that is just the effect M+P has on me.

This was a long week where my mind, body, closet and mirror would not seem to get on the same seam. Haha see what I did there? I pulled through a couple times and hit bottom a couple times. But here you go: My Week in the Elevator.

I love this outfit in person but it doesn't seem to photograph in an elevator with barely any light very well. Shirt is from Target (of course) my pants are a size 16 for which I have not been since before high school. Crazy. Skinny Rock Star pants from Old Navy. And my shoes were a BIG move for me. I am not much of a heel gal but I have always wanted to be. Today was the day. Shoes from target.

For the first time I am tan (kinda) thanks to Thailand which makes me like showing off my legs. This is my sort of child look. I dig it. Dress from Lane Bryant. Ban.do heart. My favorite.

This was the pits! I don't know what I was thinking. I was feeling the stress to impress and my brain just got all foggy. I was in a foul mood all day from this outfit. Total Booo. It started with my boots on the outside which Potsch thought looked better but again my brain was in a fog. I just got these real jeans, no stretch, no jegging aspect. By the time I got out of the car from the drive to work the waist and knees were all strechted out. Not cute having a baggy crotch all day. Shirt was weird. Whole color combo was just sad. I will not be telling you where to get these items.

I am on the fence about this look. It was so comfortable!!! It started with the shirt tied which was cool but I could not get it to photograph well and then I was sitting all day so I untied it. But I think it would make a great maternity outfit. Again, so comfy!!!

I couldn't take it anymore. I knew I was not happy with week clothes so today I pulled it out with what makes me smile the most: COLOR!!!! I wore that cardigan at my wedding so it always brings a smile to me face. Shirt is a HoneyB bow. LOVE!! Bass Saddle shoes. Favorites! and my new Old Navy Rock Star skinny pants fresh from the dirty clothes.

Hopefully you did better than I this week. I promise to do my best this weekend and put some thought into next week. Maybe this is a perfect reason to go shopping? I feel an obsession coming on.

I remember as a kid my mom listening to "Nick of Time" by Bonnie Raitt as we drove to school in the morning and the long drive home. She would sing along and seem to disappear into the lyrics. I wanted to feel that so I took the tape and made it mine. She may have asked for it back once or twice but never seemed to make too big of a deal about me claiming it as my own. Mom may have let me go with it cause she heard the entire tape more times than she ever though as I was playing it non-stop in my bedroom and putting on my own Bonnie Raitt concerts in the mirror. Or she put up no fuss cause she saw how much I loved something that she loved too. In any case I listened to that tape until the threads snapped. Recently I rediscovered Bonnie Raitt and so many memories came flooding back. But now as a woman her music and her strength get me in a completely different way. And now I can feel what my mama was feeling while singin'.

A Week in the Elevator

Second week down! I feel like I should thank you for liking this series cause it has certainly given my wardrobe a boost. Every morning and sometimes the night before I have to think, really think, about what I am going to wear and how I am going to present myself that day. The moment of stress coming up with a photo worth outfit doesn't compare to the thrill of feeling good and pretty all day. There have already been outfits that I have dreamed about wearing but never thought it would be worth putting that much effort in. Ha! effort. I'm talking about things like tights and bracelets. So, Thank you! what are you wearing these days?

These red boots I have had for over a year and have only worn them once. The reason was I was too heavy and I just looked ridiculous. But now having lost over 35lbs the world is a different place. I am so happy I did not get frustrated and toss these sexy red heeled boots. They shall become my favorites in no time. The rest of my outfit is vintage except for the cardigan which I got at Target a season or so back. I have to wear some kind of cardigan with this dress cause the armpits are completely shredded. Ha! Total honesty.

This is my new hat. I love it! It is huge and wobbles all around but it works for me cause I get head aches from hats and glasses which is iron cause my mom has always told me I look god in hats and glasses and yet it is the thing that will kill me. But this hat is my friend and only makes me feel good and cool. The jacket is fav from Anthropolgie not long ago. It was a gift to myself when I lost weight. T-shirt is a boyfriend tee from Target.
Here is the first of outfits I have dreamed but never left the house in. I was super thrilled to strut into work like this. I lovelovelove tights. I love my Ban.do Heart!!!! I love this green dress. my shoes! all of it! I felt like a million bucks in my cartoon world. Dress was from Modcloth last year. I bought it for a wedding and barely fit into it. I had an armor of spanx on. But now, it's just me under there and its a little big.
On this day I remember going into the bathroom at work and standing in front of the mirror pulling the skirt way up and way down trying to figure out how I would wear it when I have a big baby belly. Potsch and I are trying to make a bundle of magic. We almost had one a few months ago but it was not time. But like everything it all works out for the best even when it doesn't feel like it when your in it. We are having a blast now with a lot less stress, still a little, but way more fun. This outfit makes me feel sexy and confident. For some reason this outfit makes me grateful for my life. I feel so pulled together and still fun. I even wore bracelets. Shirt and tank from H&M recently. Cardigan from Target. Feather necklace from Urban Outfitters(similar).
I loved this outfit too. The mix of the oxford shirt with the extra fem dress. Almost a walk of shame outfit gone right.

With out meaning to this Week in the Elevator post has become about my weight loss. For about 3 months now (Thailand not included) I have been with out sugar, flour, corn, snacks and alcohol. I eat only Breakfast, Lunch and dinner. All basically weighed and measured. Last time I check I had lost 35 lbs. For the first time in who knows how long I like getting dressed. I like shopping. I like being naked. I feel beautiful not because my number is smaller but because i am actually giving a shit about myself. It is the only way I would feel comfortable to post my daily looks.

Thailand pt 1

This is a very heavy photo post but I am excited to share some more of my photography with you. Photography seems to be bubbling to the top as a thing I love and can't live with out. Exciting!

Thailand! I decided to skip the many shots of Potsch and I on the plane and killing time in the Taipei airport. I figured the effect would be the same as telling you we traveled for 24 hours! Thank god for the iPad. We flew EVA airlines and I highly recommend them for all your Asian travels. Great seats. Great food. Tons of current movies. It made sitting in your seat for 22 hours pretty great.

We arrived in Bangkok around 2pm. From the start we decided to not take the easy way. We found a map and asked around and jumped on the metro with a transfer to the Skytrain. It was awesome!! Crazy hot. Like sweaty sweaty sticky hot. I laughed at myself many times when I would open my suitcase to see I had packed my makeup. There is no use for that in this weather. Just pack your mascara and make sure it is water proof. The trains and subways in Bangkok are super clean and easy to figure out. We became locals in no time except for the fact that we were obviously Farangs ( fa-longs) this basically means foreigner or white person. You'll hear Thais yell this word to each other as you walk down the street and through the markets. It means "get your act together. You're about to quadruple your prices.". A lot of Asian cultures live by the art of negotiation. You are welcome to pay full price but they really are not expecting you to accept their first offer. It is not a personal thing either. You just smile and say a super low price. They come back with a still too high price. You both laugh and eventually you will have paid a reasonable price and gained a friend. It is kind of awesome. And definitely takes some practice.

We stayed at Suk11, a hotel/hostel in the Sukhumvit area which is the south east side of the main city. It's a great part of town and we found it really easy to get around from there. Suk11 cost about $30 a night and came with a delicious breakfast. WE LOVED SUK11!!!! the decor makes you think you are in a small jungle village completely away from the main city. It is a walk building which in the heat can be rough but once you get to you floor you are so distracted by the lengths they have gone to make you feel like you are walking along a boardwalk over water with fish to get to your room that you don't notice. The rooms ain't much but they have A/C or aircon as the thais say and a toilet. What more could you need.

In our jet lag state of our first day potsch and I fell for the tuk tuk trick. what is the tuk tuk trick? Well, I'll tell you so you won't have to go through it. The second a Farang takes to the street the tuk tuk drives feel it. It's in their bones, I swear. They take turns racing up to you or calling to you from across the street and leisurely sauntering to you, this option usually happens at the end of the day. "hey hey. Where you from? Where you wanna go? I take you. 20 baht half hour" sounds like a deal you tell yourself in your dizzy travel mind. "ok!". Then you get in and he never tales you to see anything interesting but instead you are forced to go into tailor shops and "just look" so your drive, ours was named jep jep, no joke, can get a coupon for gas. After the tailor you are taken to a temple. The most unimpressive nearly abandoned temple of all of Bangkok. There you casually meet an older man who just happens to be checking out the temple at the same time you are. He is very helpful and takes you straight the back where he then starts talking about shopping and that he knows a shop that has a sale only one day of the year and we are so lucky cause that day is today. Ah-ha! The gig is up. We are stuck in a con. Old man tells jep jep to takes up straight to one day only sale and we are off. We tell jep jep nicely at first we want to go home now. No more. He says no. We get firm a few times and the jep jep gets a little testy and nearly kills us in traffic. I notice a smile on his face in the rear view window. I raise my eye brow and smile back. He tells me I am clever. I take the compliment. He drops us off. We never ride a tuk tuk again.

Soi 11 the street our hotel was on. That motorcycle is a taxi. I never got a great shot but most of the time they would have a lady sitting sideways and holding the should of the rider while they would be texting. We have no idea how they did not die everyday. There are no rel traffic rules that you can make out and yet it works.

It is like a custard jam made with Coconut milk, strong tea, wheat flour, corn flour, sugar, egg and salt. It was amazing!!!! They would also have these tiny glasses with different stuff everyday. Red beans with sweet milk. Sticky rice with Taro. They were always yummy.

This is the huge temple connected to the Royal Palace. The entire thing is covered in mosaic tiles. Overwhelming how detailed and tiny every surface was.

This was a very long day of walking and looking. We had our Lonely Planet book with us and it never let us down. When we got hungry for a snack or a meal we would flip it open and it would lead us to something delicious without fail. Like this, Chow Guay. Black jelly (a little denser than jello) crushed ice and brown sugar. On a crazy hot day like this was we could not have had a better snack.

The food markets are everywhere. The cars drive by and the bus blow exhaust everywhere and they just keep cooking and setting food out. Bangkok is a town of smells. There are so many cars and still puddles of stuff and food and incense. It can be amazing and sometimes overwhelming. Add the heat and then the monsoon rains too. Oh, boy!

We saw a lot of temples which means a lot of Buddhas. And a lot of gold! This shot of Potsch makes me giggle so much.

This is the reclining Buddha. So impressive. Our favorite. His feet are covered in mother of pearl inlay. Mind blowing.

A sign at temples. Made us laugh so hard. I can't tell if ladies need to cover their legs or if the temple does not want any strippers of any kind. You tell me.

Wat Arun. The name is so much longer but no one calls it anything but Wat Arun. You have to tak a ferry over to this one. We got there just in time before closing. Our favorite temple.

Those stairs are so steep. Literally right on top of each other. Getting up scary. Realizing you have to take the same way down...terrifying.

But we made it all the way up and all the way down.

Traveling down the river in a big water taxi. Living by the water does not seem to be the same thing as living by the beach in Malibu.

We finished off almost every night in Bagkok at Cheap Charlie's. It was cheap. And it was good. Just down the road from our hotel and packed to the chain with Farangs. I say chain because when the place was open they just popped up an awning, put out some chairs and laid a chain on the ground with a sign that read "If you're out of the chain you are out of the bar." Genius.

It looks like Potsch and I may have stumbled upon a new passion - Other Peoples Passion.

This past weekend was spent in Palm Springs capturing the fun, crazy love of engaged couple Margaret and Patrick. You all know of Margaret as my super duper cool talented muse. Now you get to see her sparkle and shine with Love. I definitely feel an obsession coming on. Getting to work with my husband, who shot a stunning 8mm of the day (coming soon!!), and surround ourselves with couples so in love and excitement is intoxicating. Of course that might just be the power of M+P.
